Leicester Longwool Yarn

A Leicester Longwool sheep named Vanessa who resides at Holly Ridge Farm in Wisconsin provided this lustrous, longwool fiber that Ewetopia Mill processed into yarn. This entirely Wisconsin based yarn is a worsted weight 2-ply with about 100 grams and 160 yards per skein. The handpainted effect was achieved by layering 3 natural dyes over the white fleece: Lac, Cochineal, and Saxon Blue Indigo. The combination of colors and longwool fiber would be a fantastic match for a weaving project!
